Urgent update: Now ongoing genocide at Jenin
by Ameer Monday April 08, 2002 at 09:10 AM

URGENT ALERT: Monday, April 08, 2002, 3:29 Ittijah has just received a phone call from the Jenin refugee camp. The following is happening:

Israeli forces are in the Jenin refugee camp. They entered the refugee camp in tanks, simply demolishing everything. As of the time of this phone call, around 250 meters of the refugee camp, including shanty houses, have been destroyed. It is not known if there were people in the houses or not. Women and children were used as human shields for the tanks.

The Israeli army yesterday called upon people to gather in the courtyard of the mosque in the Jenin refugee camp. The refugees in the camp refused, seeing this as surrender, and vowing to protect their camp. Today, refugees who have left the Camp under Israeli fire were made to wear black. They are gathered in a field sealed off with barbed wire next to Salem village, close to the Green Line.

There are Palestinians remaining in the camp who refuse to surrender. According to our sources, they say they will not become refugees again.

The tanks are shooting at people in the street, including those already injured and dead. Israeli forces are still banning ambulances from entering Jenin refugee camp. There are no confirmations yet of how many people are dead or injured, as our source was calling from a mobile phone within the camp. There is a very real possibility that massacres are taking place. According to initial reports at LAW, a Palestinian human rights NGO in Jerusalem, forty residents have so far been killed and their bodies are still lying in the alleys and streets.

The following is from LAW¹s report: ³Dr. Muhammad Abu Khali, Head of Jenin Hospital, stated that on Saturday April 6, three ambulances were sent to Jenin refugee camp in order to evacuate the wounded but they were attacked by Israeli soldiers. On Sunday, April 7, Israeli forces rounded up 150 residents and shot two Palestinians, Wadah al-Shalabi (32) and Abdel Karim al-Sa'di (23), in front of the eyes of their own families. LAW managed to identify five of the killed Palestinians: Samer Jaradat (25), Fadi Abu Ara (24), Mustafa al-Shalabi (32), Munir Wishahi (27) and Muhammad al-Hamed (30).

Sane World
by Bob Hartwell Tuesday April 09, 2002 at 10:41 AM

All the nations of the World should boycott Israel until Israel forces The New Settlements from Gaza and the West Bank, give the land back to the Palestinians, let's get this over with once and for all.

Shold have been done
by Michael Wednesday April 10, 2002 at 06:29 AM

What's going on now should have been done IMMEDIATELY after Islamic Jihad or whoever announce that the Sbarro bomber originated from Jenin. Most regretable thing is that innocent people are dying there, generally being used as a human shield by their own "militants". Read the article once again, you write about it yourselves. And what does this mean that "tanks are shooting in the dead"? How do you imagine the process? That a tank lowers its cannon to the ground? That's just another lie you have gotten used to produce. You never get the peace by blowing up innocent people - both foreign and your own. Israel forever!!!

Ariel is no DETERGENT!

"I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it." -- Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001.

Of course, the dog Sharon aka "the serial war criminal" is right when he says that the Jews control America. He should have also added that "Capitol Hill" is also occupied territory.

Sharon looks intent pursuing the strategy he started in Qibya in 1953, and continued during the invasion of Lebanon in 1982. That is the wholesale massacre of innocent Palestinian men, women and children. The man is a multiple War Criminal. The occupation must end. The humiliation, violence, brutality and injustice daily meted out to Palestinian people must cease. Take the issue into schools, your community, colleges, workplaces. Lobby politicians to boycott Israel until it complies with international law, and seek justice for the Palestinian people. Any peace, or political solution must have a war crimes tribuneral. The vicious Sharon and successive Israeli governments must be brought to book if there is to be justice.

What a Crap
by Christine Tuesday July 16, 2002 at 08:04 AM

Where are you getting your information from? The Hamas- brainwash sites? Who do you think your audience is? Illiterate, stupid people that will buy whatever crap you're trying to sell them? Even a moron like you must know that Sharon never said something that stupid, and completely untrue.

And the Palestinians are of course total saints
by David Tuesday July 16, 2002 at 08:14 AM

And naturally while the Palestinians intentionally target civilians while sitting at the coffee shops they only show resistance to the occupation, right? And killing 8 month old babies, inside Israel must be the most heroic act of resistance the world has ever seen. Such a heroic act cannot possibly be a crime against humanity. Or wait...ooppps....it actually is. Read the Amnesty Report. Maybe you'll become a bit wiser.

Sharon to Peres: don't worry about American pressure; we control America

Sharon to Peres: don't worry about American pressure; we control America

Islamic Association For Palestine
Occupied Jerusalem: 3 October, 2001 (IAP News)

An acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres during which Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we control America."

According the Israeli Hebrew radio, Col Yisrael Wednesday, Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and turn the US against us.

At this point, a furious Sharon reportedly turned toward Peres, saying "every time we do something you tell me American will do this and will do that. I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel, we, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it."

The radio said Peres and other cabinet ministers warned Sharon against saying what he said in public because "it would cause us a public relations disaster."

Who is perfect?
by check out Marc Ellis Tuesday July 16, 2002 at 09:12 AM

Who would be so arrogant as to say a certain people as a whole are BETTER than another certain people?

I find the words of Marc Ellis to be very moving:

===

The covenant is not with us, not the way Christians said, because when Christians were beating us over the head, guess what? the covenant wasn’t with them either. The covenant travels. It travels with people who are working for justice, who are struggling in solidarity. The covenant is not with us today, it is travelling with these Jews of conscience, going into exile, and it can only be found for Jews, amongst Palestinians today. Not because Palestinians are perfect or romanticised Palestinians, but because that’s where the injustice is. We need to move into solidarity with the Palestinian people in order to recover what it means to be Jewish.

Laughing my ass off
by Average Jeff Tuesday July 16, 2002 at 11:35 AM

At least once a week some crybaby group issues an "Urgent Appeal" or an appeal for "Direct Action Now"

What's funny is to watch how COMPLETLY ignored these "urgent appeals" are by the rest of the world.

There is no knight on a white horse going to ride in and save the Palestinians.

It's over.

It was the terrorism, stupid.

Jeff, we'll soon take out the only two white knights the Palestinians have left, or at least people who pretend to be the white knights. The two being UBL and Saddam, of course. End game, my man.

I am not an Israeli nor a Palestinian....but I will not let History be written by the victors....I will teach my kids what happened in Jenin....If Hitler won WWII ...the Jewish genocide will only have been another Jewish history.....and not a world history..

i hardly think an incursion into a small city, no matter if the inhabitants were killed, should be called "genocide". If Hitler had won, the final solution concept would have been applied to all "inferior" peoples--Africans, Arabs, Chinese etc...and it's obvious aaghmw@yahoo.com you've got a serious inferiority complex.
